Puranik & Fraser International ramps up at India Energy Week

The World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi kicked off the 2003 conference season. It was a welcome opportunity catch up with our colleagues at Castletown Law, led by Andrew Renton, who I have worked with since the days of the Scottish electricity privitisation programme in 1991.

I am now looking forwards to the inaugural India Energy Week next week in Bengaluru. It’s great to see dmg events rolling out IEW for India and EGYPS - Egypt Petroleum Show for North Africa & The Mediterranean to complete the “regional set” on the flanks of ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference for the Middle East.

India Energy Week focusses on India’s energy transition, connecting the global energy community for innovation and investment in the move towards net zero.

Given India’s expanding economy, population, urbanisation and industrialisation it is predicted that India will see the largest increase in energy demand globally up to 2040.

Speaking ahead of India Energy Week Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs announced - “India Energy Week will enable all of us to get together to innovate and devise solutions to solve the global energy trilemma of security, affordability and availability as well as devise solutions for the future global energy transition.”

IEW will be a key opportunity to roll out our Puranik & Fraser International JV with Mukund Puranik, former counsel with Reliance in India.
