Colorado “highs” for methane emissions solutions as Integrity Communications Solutions reaches COP28
HFI was delighted to meet this week with Graeme Towndrow, President at Commercial Operations with Integrity Communications Solutions in Colorado. ICS is predominantly a space sector company serving NASA but has now turned its’ expertise to the climate challenge by offering low-cost methane sensors.
As reported on Monday by Boston Consulting Group, COP28 has seen fifty oil and gas companies pledge to reach near zero-methane emissions by 2030. They have submitted a plan to meet those targets by 2025. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-has-been-agreed-cop28-so-far-happens-next-hkgle/
From a MENA region angle, at COP27 held last year in Egypt, the importance of acting on reducing methane emissions as a quick win was highlighted and the Sharm El Sheikh Oil and Gas Methane Reduction Roadmap was introduced: now Egypt Oil & Gas’s 2023 roadmap report on "Curbing Methane Emissions in Egypt's Oil and Gas Sector for COP28 has been published. https://lnkd.in/dVfmUe52
Over in Colorado, ISC’s engineers have invented and patented a groundbreaking low-cost methane sensor for ‘on-earth’ use; it measures to 0.5 parts per million which is below the 1.8 ppm global average for atmospheric methane concentration. The sensor is portable, durable and does not require calibration. https://issuu.com/towndrowfidelis/docs/a5_brochure_singles
